江宁高新园创建于1994年，1997年被国家科委批准为高新技术产业开发区，是全国唯一集高新技术产业区、大学城和风景旅游度假区为一体的开发园区。

江宁高新园坐拥方山、北望东山、西连秦淮河、东接青龙山，三山一河四面环绕，地铁1号线南延线、104国道、宁杭高速、宁杭高铁等穿境而过，区位优势得天独厚，境内人文古迹众多。

经过20年的发展，秉承“诚实、创新、包容”的园区精神，栉风沐雨、砥砺前行，园区经济总量实现了快速跃升，地区生产总值、公共财政预算收入等主要经济指标年均增幅超过20%。园区着力发展的生命科学、高端装备和现代服务三大主导产业得到长足发展，产业结构不断优化、核心竞争力显著增强，累计已引进美国、德国、日本等15个国家和地区的400多家企业，其中世界500强企业19家，投资总额累计超过47亿美元，集聚了世界第一风电传动系统制造商南高齿、四大通用轴承制造商舍弗勒、德国工业巨头蒂森克虏伯、世界传感控制领域巨头霍尼韦尔、过程流量控制领域巨头艾默生、全球最大的基因合成商金斯瑞等领军企业，成为南京和江宁重要的经济增长极。

未来，江宁高新园将以世界一流科技园区为标杆，不断深化创新资源汇聚、创业环境打造和创新成果转化，着力建设创业创新环境最佳区域，进一步释放江苏(江宁)大学科教创新园的创新潜能，大力实施一批重大科技成果转化，重点扶持一批上市企业和创新型骨干企业，推动生命科学跻身国家战略性新兴产业基地，全力把江宁高新园打造成全省领先、长三角一流的大学科教创新园区，国际领先、国内一流的生命科学城，最具活力、最具竞争力的国家级高新区。

Jiangning Hi-tech Industrial Park was established in 1994 and was approved as hi-tech industrial development zone by State Scientific and Technological Commission in 1997. It is the only development park which integrates high-tech industrial zone, university town and scenic tourist resort in China.

Jiangning Hi-tech Industrial Park is located at Fangshan Mountain, adjacent to Dongshan Mountain on the north, connected to Qinhuai River on the west and Qinglong Mountain on the east, surrounded by three mountains and one river, through which south extension line of No.1 Subway, No.104 National Road, Nanjing-Hangzhou Highway and Nanjing-Hangzhou High-speed Rail etc cross. It is strategically situated and abounds in humanistic and historical sites.

With 20 years of development and the spirit of “integrity, innovation and inclusiveness”, unremitting efforts amidst wind and rain, this Park has witnessed rapid growth of economic aggregate, annual average growth rate of major economic indicators such as regional GDP and budget revenue for public finance in excess of 20%. Considerable progress has been made in three large leading industries including life science, high-end equipment and modern service whose development is vigorously pursued in this Park; industrial structure has been continuously optimized, core competitiveness has been significantly improved, more than 400 enterprises from 15 countries and territories including USA, Germany and Japan etc have been introduced into this Park, among which 19 ones are listed among Global Top 500; cumulative gross investment has exceeded 4.7 billion USD; this Park has clustered many leading enterprises including Nanjing High Accurate Drive Equipment Manufacturing Group Co., Ltd, manufacturer of the first wind power drive system in the world; Schaeffler, one of four largest general-purpose bearing manufacturers; German industrial giant Thyssen Krupp; Honeywell, the world’s giant in the field of sensory control; Emerson, the giant in the field of process flow control; the world’s largest gene synthesis producer GenScript etc, thus this Park has become the important economic growth pole for Jiangning even Nanjing.

In the future, with world first class science parks as benchmark for Jiangning Hi-tech Industrial Park, efforts will be made to continuously deepen collection of innovation resources, creation of entrepreneurial environment, commercialization of innovation achievements, and energetically build the best area under entrepreneurial and innovation environment, further release innovation potential of Jiangsu (Jiangning) University Science and Education Innovation Park, and vigorously carry out commercialization of one batch of major scientific and technological achievements, and emphatically support one batch of listed enterprises and innovative backbone enterprises, and drive life science to be included into national strategic emerging industry base so as to strenuously develop Jiangning Hi-tech Industrial Park into university science and education innovation park reputed as the leading one within the whole province and first class one in Yangtze River Delta, and international leading , domestic first-class life science city, and the most vibrant, most competitive state-level hi-tech zone.
