始建于1958 年，原名天津中医学院。2005 年更名为天津中医药大学。2017 年，学校列入国家“双一流” 建设高校名单，中药学科入选国家“双一流”建设学科。2018 年，学校整体搬迁至静海团泊湖畔新校区。学校已入围教育部、国家中医药管理局、天津市政府三方共建高校之列。学校是原国家教委批准的唯一一所中国传统医药国际学院，是世界中医药学会联合会教育指导委员会主任委员单位。

Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Founded in 1958, it was originally named Tianjin College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2005, it was renamed Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2017, the school was included in the list of Double First-Class University Plan, and the discipline of Chinese medicine was selected as the national "double first-class" discipline. In 2018, it relocated as a whole to the new campus beside Tuanbo Lake in Jinghai District. It has been shortlisted in the list of colleges and universities jointly built by the Ministry of Education, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Tianjin Municipal Government. The school is the only international college of traditional Chinese medicine approved by the former State Education Commission, as well as the chairman of the Education Steering Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Society.
